Welcome to the Auckland Tramping Club.
The Auckland Tramping Club runs a wide variety of outdoor activities, so if the outdoors is where you want to be, then we have something for you.
Weekend Trips
Every month we schedule weekend trips to the great tramping locations in the North Island. Accommodation includes camping, DOC huts, our SnowSports Lodge, other lodges
Xmas Trips
In the summer we travel to the South Island for a series of longer tramping trips ranging between 5 to 10 days
Day Walks
For those less keen to carry a multi-day pack we run trips that visit different areas of the country for day walks in that area. Accommodation is campground cabin / motel standard.
There are many interesting cycle trails for us to explore
ATC Snowsports Lodge
ATC SnowSports Lodge is right up on the side of Mt Ruapehu – great for summer and winter activities from a very comfortable base
From ATC SnowSports Lodge in the winter you are already on the mountain, and within walking distance of the Whakapapa chair lifts.
Ngaro Te Kotare hut
Closer to home out Ngaro Te Kotare hut is a great base for exploring the Waitakeres, and for younger trampers to get a taste for our great outdoors
Our members are actively involved with Conservation projects in the Waitakeres and a kokako breeding area in the central North Island
Track Maintenance
We assist the Department of Conservation in the maintenance of tramping tracks in the Kaimai Ranges
Our club bus “Big Blue” is used for transport on many of our trips (replacement due on the road in June 2015)
