Duration: Saturday 13 June 2020 to Sunday 14 June 2020 (2 days)
Saturday - Mt Tutamoe: Climb through Kaihu Forest to the top of Mount Tutamoe and you will be rewarded by stunning, panoramic views. Views from the top are spectacular - you can see Dargaville, Kaipara, Maunganui Bluff to the south and west, Tangihua Forest and Whangarei Heads in the east.
Medium: From the carpark, 40 mins up the forestry road, then take the path (marked with large orange triangle) to the top. Initially the path is in newish pine forest but with native trees around, after 20 mins crosses stile into typical native bush and the path climbs to 770m, steeply at the top. Reverse back the way you came up. Time 4.5 hours
Easy: Same as medium only turn back when you feel you have had enough
Destination: Tangowahine Valley Rd. Carpark at beginning of forest road.
Departure: 8:00 am Club garage, 31 Sandringham Rd, Kingsland
Rest stop 15mins Wellsford
  Walk starts approx. 11.30 am
Evening: After the walk the bus will go to the Dargaville Holiday Park Ph 09 439-8296. Website Link. There is a range of accommodation there. Those wanting accommodation or own campsite, please book your own.
Sunday - Tangihua Forest: An interesting rugged landmark area with some steep and challenging tracks through mainly podocarp broadleaf forest with some kauri.
Medium/Hard: Starting at the carpark, follow the vehicle track to the forest area 30mins, then take the Horokaka track, Main Ridge, Te Haua Ura track to Lodge then back to the carpark. Time 6-7 hours
Easy: With the others for the first part of the Horokaka track, then cut back to the Te Haua track via the Tumanako track. Time approx. 4 hours

Destination: Tangihua forest carpark just off Omana Rd
Departure: 8:00 am from Dargaville Campervan Park
Walk starts approx. 8.45am
Transport: Club bus   Driver: Sue Grant
Cost: $50 members, $60 non-members
Add $20 if sleeping in the bus
Pay in cash on Saturday morning
Pay your own separate accommodation costs
Return to Auckland: There will be a short meal stop in Wellsford on the way back to Auckland
