Duration: Saturday 9 February 2019 to Sunday 10 February 2019 (2 days)
Details: This is a two day event with camping or accommodation overnight at Te Puru Holiday Park.
SATURDAY
Long: Starting from Collarbone Rd in Thames follow Karaka Track and Crosbie Main Range Track to Crosbies Hut for lunch then on to Te Puru Track down to Te Puru Creek Rd to camps. The Te Puru Track is quite seriously muddy at the top and with a 300m river bash down Te Puru Stream with poor markings near the end. However you get a grandstand view of a magnificent kauri tree and there are pimelea tomentosa, an endangered species on the side of the track.
Time: 6 - 7 hours.

Medium: As above but peeling off onto Tarau Track and back to Tararu Creek Rd just out of Thames. Bus to Te Puru.
Time: 3 - 4 hours.
Leader: TBA probably driver (who will have an extra 20min walk back to the bus).
Start time for both walks is 10.00am.
Accommodation: Either camping at Te Puru Holiday Park or book cabin accommodation for yourselves - 07 868 2879.
SUNDAY
Long: Starting at Waiomu, follow Waiomu Valley Track till it joins Crosbies Main Range Track. Past Crosbies Hut, turn onto Wainora Tramping Track then south to Whangaiterenga Campsite.
Time: 7 - 8 hours.

Medium: As above but when others join Crossbies Main Ridge Tk, join the Te Puru Track (see above) thus completing the circuit.
Time: 5 - 6 hours.
Leader: TBA probably driver (who will have an extra 3km walk back to the bus).
Start time for both walks is 8.00am.
Easy: Climb up to the kauri with the others. Enjoy the magnificent trees and setting, then return to the road (all on good tracks, 1 - 2 hours), follow up with a beach walk.

Departure: 8:00 am Club garage, 31 Sandringham Rd, behind Mobil
Transport: Club bus
Return: If all goes well, by 6.00pm on Sunday, assuming no major traffic problems.
Bus Cost: $30 members, $40 non-members. Pay on the bus.
