Join the members of Alpine Sports Club and the Antarctica Society  for a presentation by Peter Otway on Tuesday November 6th at 7.30pm

The venue is the St Marks Church, Parish Hall, 5 St Marks Road, Remuera (on the corner of St Marks and Remuera Rd)

Peter Otway, explorer and author will give an illustrated talk titled “It’s a Dog’s Life in Antarctica”. He later wrote a book of the same title.

Peter arrived at Scott Base in October 1960 for a 16 month assignment, spending two summer seasons sledging and surveying through the mountains and around the edge of the frigid Polar Plateau. Peter wintered over between seasons working with British Explorer Wally Herbert to look after five husky teams.
