Medium Easy

The track initially follows the fast-flowing, boulder-strewn Wairere Stream. It passes through very attractive forest to a view of the towering Wairere Falls (153m). The track continues to top of falls for lunch. After viewing the Falls from the top platform, go past a large open camping area, and continue north alongside a delightful stream with the chance of a swim if time permits.  Return to bus by same track.  Duration 5-6 hours

The bus will then drive to the end of Te Tuhi Road to collect the other party

Leader: Martin Woodhead Ph 021 397 734

Medium Fit

This requires you to be walking at a good Medium / Fit pace – both uphill and downhill. Start as per the other group, checking in at the top of the Wairere falls before continuing to the North South Track, turning south. This will take you to the North South / Ngamarama / Te Tuhi junction. Follow the Te Tuhi track through bush, eventually dropping down through the forest to then cross farmland to return to the bus. Duration 6-7 hrs.
