Five Passes
You MUST obtain approval from the leader before booking for any extended multiday trip.

The Five Passes is a classic backcountry trip over 5 separate passes in the Fiordland and Mount Aspiring National Parks. Camping the whole way. No huts. River crossings. Stunning views if the weather is kind. The last time I attempted this, we had to abort before even starting because of bad weather. This time I’ve scheduled 2 spare days in case of bad weather. Experienced fit trampers only. Dates: Jan 10-18 (arrive Queenstown Jan 9, Tramp Jan 10-18, depart Queenstown Jan 19). Details and costs are still being worked out. All plans as usual subject to change based on the conditions at the time. To be considered you must have participated capably in several multi day trips in the last couple of years.
