Drive to Army Bay at the end of Whangaparaoa Peninsula. From the carpark climb up through Waterfall Gully to the open farmland and the Lookout Track – extensive views over the Hauraki Gulf to Tiritiri Matangi Island. Continue around the headland and drop down to Te Haruhi beach. Return to Army Bay via the Lookout and Heritage tracks (approx. 8km) or continue along the coast to Okoromai Bay and then inland to Army Bay. Can be extended further by including Gulf Harbour (definite potential for a café stop with this longer option…). High Tide 10.40am.
