Note that this is a Saturday trip MediumToday’s trip involves a visit to two of Auckland’s eastern regional parks – Waharau and Tapapakanga on the edge of the Hunua Ranges. The Waharau loop track climbs up to the Waharau Ridge high point 405m with good views over the Firth of Thames to the Coromandel. Around 3 hours. Tapapakanga Regional Park provides a variety of walking options with great views out over the Firth of Thames, also with swimming potential from the beach. Low Tide 3.45pm.
