Fletcher Bay, Coromandel - CANCELLED

Only ATC members can book a trip up to 3 weeks before a trip commences. After that time, non-member bookings may be accepted.

THIS TRIP IS CANCELLED due to the recent weather event.

Walk the spectacular Coromandel Walkway or just enjoy a weekend camping and relaxing by the beach.

Medium

Saturday take the scenic Coromandel Walkway from Fletcher Bay to Stony Bay, 20km 7hrs return. A fitter group may optionally wish to make it a loop by returning via the Stony Bay Mountain Bike Track.

Sunday before returning to Auckland stop at the Muriwai Hilltop car park for the 6km 2hr Muriwai Walk: marvellous views heading down the ridge towards Wharekaiatua Pa, across the Muriwai estuary and along the beach to the Port Jackson Campsite. Return to cars via the road or repeat your journey in reverse.

Transport: Car pooling

Drivers: Various

Transport Cost: pay direct to driver, suggest $100pp if three in a car

Accommodation Cost: $30.00, pay ATC to confirm booking (campsites for 20 have been booked for Friday & Saturday nights @ $15/night)

Destination: Fletcher Bay at the top of the Coromandel Peninsula

Departure: T.B.A. (leader & drivers can organise travel to best suit themselves, Club garage unavailable that weekend)
