Easy MediumThursday: Drive to North Egmont to drop off Fit party, then to Mangorei Road end carpark to overnight on bus. Friday: Eject the Medium party early and drive to North Egmont to secure a bus park. Walk to Holly Hut (booked for 2 nights) via the Ram, Kokowai and Holly Hut tracks, 6hrs. Saturday: Day trip to visit Bell Falls and possibly Stony River. Sunday: Take the Around the Mountain track back towards (but not down to) North Egmont, past Tahurangi Lodge (private) and on down to Maketawa Hut (16 bunks, 3 std hut tickets/annual Backcountry Hut Pass), 6hrs. Monday: Back to the bus at North Egmont via the Maketawa track, 2hrs Leader: TBA MediumThursday: Drive to North Egmont to drop off Fit party, then to Mangorei Road end carpark to overnight on bus. Friday: Climb up to the Pouakai Range via the Mangorei track, down and along the Ahukawakawa track to Holly Hut (booked), 6hrs. Saturday: Take the Around the Mountain track past Tahurangi Lodge (private) and on down to Maketawa Hut (16 bunks, 3 std hut tickets/annual Backcountry Hut Pass), 6hrs. Sunday: Climb back up to Tahurangi Lodge, take the high level Around the Mountain track past Manganui Skifield and the Stratford Plateau to Waingongoro Hut (16 bunks, 3 std hut tickets/annual Backcountry Hut Pass), 6hrs. Monday: To Dawson Falls carpark via Wilkies Pools to wait for bus, 2-2½hrs. Leader: TBA FitThursday: Drive to North Egmont (6hrs), walk to Holly Hut (booked, 3hrs) via the Razorback and Holly Hut tracks. Friday: Take the high level Around the Mountain Circuit via Kahui Hut to Waiaua Gorge Hut (16 bunks, 3 std hut tickets/annual Backcountry Hut Pass), 7-9hrs. Saturday: Again take the high-level option: up the Brames Falls track to link up with the Fantham’s Peak track, then down to Waingongoro Hut (16 bunks, 3 std hut tickets/annual Backcountry Hut Pass), 7-9hrs. Sunday: Continue the high-level theme up to Stratford Plateau, past Manganui Skifield and Tahurangi Lodge then down to Maketawa Hut (16 bunks, 3 std hut tickets/annual Backcountry Hut Pass), 5-6hrs. Monday: back to bus at North Egmont via Maketawa Track, 1.5hrs.
