Celebrate the Autumn Equinox by Walking Across New Zealand

Payment: Please pay in cash on the day if you can – it saves our Club volunteers work. If you forget, don’t worry, we’ll give you the details for an electronic payment.
Return times: Normally 5-7pm, but 6-8pm for trips advertised as “late finish”. However, any trip can be delayed through injury, traffic etc. It’s best not to plan anything for the early evening.

Celebrate the Autumn Equinox by walking across New ZealandWe will hike from the Manukau harbour across the isthmus to the Waitemata harbour; approx. 16km. From Onehunga Lagoon Taumanu Reserve we will hike the classic coast-to-coast trail. On the way we will summit 2 volcanoes - Maungakiekie / One Tree Hill and Maungawhau / Mt Eden and traverse 6 parks - Jellicoe, Cornwall, Melville, Outhwaite, Auckland Domain and Albert before dropping down to the Waitemata harbour (vicinity of ferry buildings). To return to cars, catch the 27H bus from Britomart and alight at the entrance to Monte Cecilia Park on Hillsborough Rd. Through the park passing the huge Morton Bay Fig trees and down to connect with Pah Rd and back to the cars at Taumanu Reserve.
