A stunningly beautiful tramp around the Buckland’s Beach and Howick coastline. A mixture of rock hopping, beaches, suburban roads with amazing homes and coastal views, walkways, ending with 3km of magnificent bush and boardwalks. Rocks can be slippery, walking pole recommended and boots with good grip required. Whilst the hike is around the low tide mark, wet feet are inevitable rather than a possibility. Expect to wade a few times in water up to knee deep.

Northern end of Buckland’s Beach – head round the coast below Musick Point to Eastern Beach. Proceed south along Eastern Beach to Maclean Reserve – up to Bleakhouse Road – Paige Pt Road – walkway to Mellons Bay – Mellons Bay Road – Seymour Road – Oceania Place – pathway to Marine Parade and down to Howick Beach. Up Rangitoto View Road – Island View Terrace – Granger Road – Cockle Bay Road – Tainui Raod – Cockle Bay. Bush track to Pah Road – Calendar Place – Sandspit Road – Shelly Park Beach. Mangemangeroa walkway to car park Whitford / Sommerville Road.

15 -16 km, approx. 5.5 hours.
